Rules and procedures for detecting and handling plagiarism.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is considered to occur when someone intentionally copies the work of others or uses content without providing proper references.
If any member of the editorial team, reviewer, editor, or any other staff member identifies plagiarism at any stage of the process—before or after acceptance, during editing, or at the proofreading stage—they will notify the authors and request revision of the content.
All manuscripts will be subjected to plagiarism/self-plagiarism screening using Similarity Check (iThenticate v2).
Manuscripts in which plagiarism is detected may vary in the degree of similarity, and will be handled accordingly:
- <5% plagiarism: The manuscript may be accepted, but will be returned to the author for revision of the content.
- 5–30% plagiarism: The manuscript will not be accepted until the author performs substantial revision of the content.
- >30% plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected without peer review.
Post-publication plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected after publication, the editorial office will conduct an investigation.
If plagiarism is confirmed, the editorial office will contact the author, and the plagiarized article will be clearly marked as such on every page of the PDF.
Depending on the extent of plagiarism, the article may also be formally retracted.
Plagiarism checks are conducted using authenticated plagiarism detection tools.
