The Dark Triad refers to a set of\nthree socially undesirable but relatively stable\npersonality traits: narcissism,\nMachiavellianism, and psychopathy. These\ntraits are characterized by manipulativeness,\nemotional coldness, lack of empathy, a need\nfor dominance, and self-interest orientation.\nAlthough they are most commonly studied in\nthe general population and in\npsychopathology, increasing attention has\nbeen given to their presence among healthcare\nprofessionals due to their potential impact on\nprofessional relationships and the quality of\nhealthcare delivery.<br> <br>\nThe aim of this paper was\nto show the importance, characteristics and\npresence of dimensions of the dark triad\namong health workers in the health sector. A\nreview of the literature shows that\npronounced narcissistic, Machiavellian, and\npsychopathic traits may be associated with\nreduced empathy, impaired teamwork,\nworkplace conflicts, and counterproductive\nbehavior. Studies conducted among\nphysicians and nurses indicate a link between\nDark Triad traits and more aggressive\ncommunication, emotional detachment, unethical behavior, and an increased risk of\nprofessional errors. Although certain\ncharacteristics, such as self-confidence and\ndecisiveness, may have a functional role in\nspecific situations, it is important to recognize\nthe potentially negative impact of dark\npersonality traits on the work environment\nand patient safety. <br><br>\n\n Conclusion.
